Crappy day yesterday. At least we went 2-0 in our college football plays.

Sunday's Play:

Parlay: Pit TT over 2.5 and Calg TT over 2.5 (1 unit pays 1.9 units)

Hey DD. I don't have a book that offers parlaying team totals. Do you think parlaying the teams is a decent move? It may not hit as much, which is fine, but it does pay better

I have never been a big fan of pars, but here is my hockey guy's take on TT pars:

Today Pit TT over was about -150 and Calg TT over was about -155. If one were to play both of those straight and they both lose, you lose 3.05 units. If they split you lose .5 or .55 units, depending on which one loses. If you win them both, of course you win 2 units.

On the flip side, if you par those and and they both lose you only lose 1 unit, not 2 units. If they split you lose 1 unit rather than .5 units. If they both win you win 1.9 units, almost as much as playing them straight.

He just feels he is limiting his exposure. My feeling is it's hard enough winning one play let alone two, but I will keep posting his plays as long as they stay profitable over the long haul.

Good afternoon,

For the last week I, not my hockey guy, have been looking at the correlation between the assigned refs and the game total, and with just that very small sample, I think there may be. I am looking at 4 factors:

1. Goals per Game
2. Power Plays per Game
3. Penalties per Game
4. PIM (Penalty Infraction Minutes) per Game

I have developed an arbitrary formula using all four metrics above to determine if a game will go over or under the total. The formula is a work in progress and am am still tweaking it, plus I need a much larger sample before I will be playing it. Right now it seems to favor unders more than overs so it may need more tweaking. I am afraid to post since I feel people will start playing these before we even know if there is any value to these plays. Let me know if I should post these for tracking purposes only.
