Both teams can score. I feel that Detroit has a much better defense lately. It is the most appealing match-up that could have happened I think. Who do you give edge to if this plays out? And, do you agree that the appeal of the match-up is pretty strong for ratings. The names involved are real superstars in the game today, correct?

              ....

Being from Detroit we kinda get spoiled with the Wings....I think it is going to be a great series...Pitt will play them tough...it all comes down to injuries, Lidstrom didnt even skate today prior to the game...Wings dont talk about injuries to much...Datysuk will be ready supposedly...still up in the air if the captain will play

Is it just me, or does this line seem suspiciously low? I expected more along the lines of -160/+140.

                    TheGreek -145/+125

I took the Red Wings Series @ -145. I agree LT, 6 games just like last year.

                    Fleury v Osgood is epic.

if lidstrom nor datsyuk come back soon, pens should have the win.....but if they are back..they will be outplayed offensively...as for defenseivly, pens will be outplayed every game.....

Wings VS Pens.....fvck paper stats, all that goes out the window in the finals..Pens want revenge, and wanna tie the cup "series" at 1-1....

...Wings more powerfull, smarter, better defense, goaltending lil shaky compared to the pens, and thats all the pens have on them.....

Wings in either a SWEEP, or in 6 games!

This should be a much better series than last year's General. Pitts are a slightly better team than last year's but last year's experience alone will be huge for them. Crosby will be on fire this year. This guy's play will elevate his team. Detroit has some injuries, but that is all part of the game. In my opinion, I think Pitts wins in 6 or 7.

I concur. I don't think people realize how much better the Penguins actually are this year.

Pens are a ton better this year and they seem to be getting better game by game. Their defense has been great in the playoffs (arguably better than detriots) and fleury has been great. The X factor again will be Malkin, if he continues his strong play as he has played all playoffs long...pens win. If he disappears like last year's finals..Pens lose.

i somehow dont see it very high scoring..
just because both teams are gonna bring out their top defense
                                    and stick to that
because "defense is what wins games"

Pens take it this year, V for Vendetta. First back to back years with the same finalists since 1977-1978 with the Habs and Bruins, pretty unreal.

It was actually Edmonton Oilers and New York Islanders in 1983 & 1984

Islanders were the old dynasty and beat the Oilers in '83 to win their fourth cup in four years, the next year the Oilers beat them in the rematch starting a dynasty of their own.

Somewhat of a similar situation... will history repeat?

Edit: Just read Vegas Dave's writeup and he covered this already...
