New to the site here obviously, I've played/watched hockey for the last 4 years and after joking recently about gambling on a couple games I've decided to give it a try. A lot of people don't like the matchup's tonight or say they aren't value plays lying around like last night. I strongly disagree. Some notable winners for me last night included Hawks, Wild and Devils while a very frustrating loss for me last night was the Cats. 6 seconds left and they giv eup that goal. They looked gassed for that last minute and a half, needed a set of legs for those last 60 seconds. Anyways, holding myself accountable from here on out on this site. So starting as of tonight here are my plays

Red Wings @ Rangers. I'm taking the Rangers ML @ -155 here. Nothing too fancy, could be a close game, Wings coming off a big win I understand that. The Rangers are one of the best NHL teams at home In my opinion and it doesn't help that the Red Wings are 0-6 in their last 6 games at Madison Square Garden. You could also take Rangers winning in regulation as I don't see this one going to overtime.
Maple Leafs @ Jets. Take the over here at 5.5 goals at -105 if you can get it. High-scoring affair that could very well end in a shootout. The last time this matchup didn't go over 5 goals..... 2013.
1st Period Red Wings- Rangers OVER. After checking the goalies for today I love this bet wayyyyyyyy more. -105 1st period over is a STEAL. Could be 2-0 Rangers, could just as likely be 1-1. But 1st period, especially when the Red wings are involved... can usually bank on 2 goals or more.
(Dog/Value Bet $50) Toronto Maple Leafs ML +110. Leafs are 4-0 PL last 4 games against the Western Conference. I'm going to take them Straight Up in the ML though. They should be well rested for this game and don't play again until Friday. Don't get me wrong the Jets DOMINATE this matchup historically, ESPECIALLY at home. But if you're looking for a dog/value bet this is the game you want to play it in. I predict Maple Leafs 4-3 but it could very well just be wishful thinking.
I would suggest playing the first 3 picks for sure, but hey always fun to root for a dog sometimes, especially when the public is spilt on the matchup 50/50
