Seriously, this all started by me mentioning I didn't think the Canucks were very good and if they got by Chicago they would get hammered by Detroit.
Never hated the Canucks, only team I hate are the Canadiens.
Somehow some of you took it so personally you wanted to attack me for simply believing Vancouver isn't a serious cup contender, I still believe that.
Why?
Because they missed the playoffs last year and adding Sundin and Wellwood wasn't nearly enough improvement, plus they rely on Luongo too much, when he is off its over for the Canucks.
I have no loyalty to the Canucks or the Hawks, but I bet the hawks and winning some cash is more important to me than cheering for a team 3000 miles away that I hardly see play.Comment -

I pretty much knew what happened when I saw the 'BetPlom is a coward' thread....
he knows how much we hate toronto and he's just gotta rile us up, it's too easy. he knows how emotional we are about hockey, he is canadian, we are taught from a young age to hate toronto, we hate them more than they can ever hate us and he knows it and its too easy, as soon as the canucks bolw a game he's gotta come piling on, coming from a guy from toronto makes it 10x worse.
Vancouver was an edgy city last night. Everyone was trying to pick fights at the bar, Somehow people here forgot what it feels like to lose.
It's all good guys, Vancouver needed to lose a game like this. Nobody said this was going to be easy. Chicago is a good team, the Canucks couldn't defend them last night. They made Luongo look like the worst goalie in the world when he's really the best.
If the Canucks had of swept Chicago, they would of been swept themselves in the third round. We need controvorsy, we need to have to make adjustments, we might even lose game 3, but if we win game 4, it's a new series.
Keep your head up guys, this shit is far from over. Losing last night was the best thing that could have happened. The canucks are going to have to take a long hard look in the mirror this morning.

Well written Fresh. I was also taught to hate the Leafs since birth also. At least the Canucks are responsible for taking out the Leafs the last time they went deep in 94.

Not true, I have watched (and wagered on) many Canucks games this season, I've done quite well betting on them and against them at the right times this year.
True, I'd never watch a Canucks game I have no money on, but since Vancouver is in such a far out timezone I get a chance to see their games when I can't fall asleep.
They are a decent team, but still not serious contenders, should Luongo play poorly they have no chance of moving on.
Chicago is under rated and I only started liking them since they beat Calgary, I thought Chicago was not good enough defensively, they made MANY mistakes in the regular season games and they showed an excellent example in game 1 giving up a 3 on 1 with over a minute to play in a game where they had all the momentum.Comment
