Hello All,
Buffalo came through with the W last night at +135. Keep an eye on them Wednesday at Colorado, should be value.
Tuesday Pick: Vancouver +169
The Canucks are on game 4 of their 6 game East Coast road trip, and have won two close ones in a row in OT/SO. Ryan Miller is back and in the net for this one. He's looked sharp against the Islanders Sunday, winning 2-1 in a SO. Henrik Sedin is hurt and out, but rookie Jared McCann takes his spot and is super fast. The Canucks have a 97.2 PP/PK rating on the season, but are trending sharply up in January with a rating of 105.9. They are playing hard and have tough games left on the trip at Boston and Pittsburgh. Its a "are we going to be a playoff team?" kind of stretch. In the Pacific, anybody can be one.
On the Flip side, the Rangers are at home for one, then back on the road for two. They just lost 2 of 3 on a 3 game, 4 Day road trip. They'll likely get a couple days off after this one before playing in Carolina on Friday. I would expect them to be in a Friday afternoon type mentality. They have an almost identical season PP/PK rating as the Canucks at 96.8, but have posted a dismal 4.5% power play in January to go with a 70% PK. Thats a January PP/PK rating of 74.5. That's really bad.
Yeah, they have Lundqvist in net, but I think this is a coin flip game at least and I'll take it at +169.
Good Luck.
