I think I would leave out Pitt for sure. I think Detroit pretty unlikely too unless they somehow gain an edge in goalie play, which doesn't seem likely. Ottawa best dog value here IMO.

Talking to a puck head friend of mine, I like the game, don't have the time to follow the NHL, he tells me Ottawa is the hottest team going in, and he thinks they can beat Montreal, but his concern is the Senators don't have enough fire power to beat Price to win four games.

I know about the defenseman, Karlson, and a couple of others, me being analytics guy, went to the data.
Their goaltender Hammond is 20 and 1? Really? That's amazing.

He is a fuckin beast, I haven't seen anything like it for a while.

Jackets would have a great chance if they didn't have so many injuries in the beginning.

The way to go in the OTT/MTL series is to bet under's, neither of these teams are offensive powerhouses and how both teams have good goalies right now i am expecting a lot of 2-1, 3-1, 3-2, 2-0 sort of games.

Forget what rooting interest I might have or don't have, how do you figure the Pens have a chance to beat the Rangers in 7. NYR are the favs to win the cup as the East has one maybe 2 teams that can competre with them. Where the West is wide open with 5 teams Vanc, Anaheim, Stl Chic, Minn as pretty much all even. NYR should be minus 350 or more to win this series. I think NYR win in 5 or 4. Pens have been awful second half.

Maybe Pittsburgh reputation is keeping the price down Food for thought ??
5Dimes has Rangers -175 for the game and -225 for the series.
What do you make the price if they split the first 2 games ?

Depends on how the games play out.
                            Dominance, injuries, etc,

Van has ZERO chance of winning the west, throw them out, STL chokes every year, this year won't be different. The other 3 you named are really the only 3 i see coming from there.

The turn around OTT made this year is incredible, to say the least. However, all homer bias aside, the Wild made a similar run and did so against a much more difficult schedule. The wild will have their hands with STL, but this series can be won.
