My though process on this selection is the following :

1- It's a tough and pretty even matchup to bet...
2- In those "coinflip" matchup, I usually go Moneyline with the team offering the best payoff but...
3- I think that NYR are a good team BUT not as good as the last 20 games they played...
4- On the other side, I think PIT underperformed in the last 20 games the played...
5- They are playing in Pittsburgh
6- NYR and PIT have a great rivalry and you can expect both team to come out and give all they have
7- After all this, I wanted to go with PIT Moneyline but the price wasn't good enough to me so I took PIT -1 for what I think is a good price at 2.25

Yep, the odds are high so I keep capital usage down via parlays. If there is an upset Im not worried because I havent geared up. Do you do quite a bit of hockey?

I'm fairly new to capping but I'm a huge hockey fan and have a good understanding of gambling theory (played poker for a living for 5 years a couples of years ago). I started this thread mainly to see how I can hold myself vs the best capper on this site...

Good good, do you watch many of the games? I would be interested in pooling thoughts on a daily basis on how we thought teams performed. Im a big believer in matching data with the eye test not taking either in isolation and I have guys crunching data but to add some knowledgeable hockey eyes
would be great.

At least we're back to normal today. Good games to bet on I like Florida, Calgary and Carolina today for moneyline, maybe New York Islanders - 1, and Colorado-St.Louis over 5.5... what are your thoughts so far today?

Here's the picks I'm leaning toward for tonight games :

Over 6 PHI vs NYI
PHI vs NYI (NYI -1) (hopes this line will move a bit cause even at -1 it's barely paying enough...)
CAR vs TOR (CAR Moneyline)
VAN vs FLO (VAN Moneyline) (Maybe push to -1 for a better price...)
CBJ vs MIN (MIN -1)
CGY vs LAK (CGY Moneyline)

CAR and CGY offer a really nice payout in what should be a tight matchup.

I will post back later today when they announce the starting goalies!

Morning Guys, that sounds good however I differ on Florida & Kings will send across explanation why in 2 hours as I need to head out now. I would also look carefully at the Carolina / Toronto under, Caro is a complete under team and Toronto now the same with the new regime – see last 4 games results. Caro hardly ever gets 5.5 lines and they have only gone over them when facing backup goalies. Speak shortly and BOL to all today

That's a great point about Carolina, I don't see how those two together could bring it over 5.5. The odds are a bit low at 1.76, still it is worth thinking about it.

I don't know what you want exactly but yes, I spend a lot of time on NHL gamecenter watching live game so if you think I can help you out let me know.

am playing Calgary to lose either tonight to the Kings or Wednesday to the Ducks, I dont think they will sweep a 5 game road trip its not easy to do. I make almost all my plays in this fashion, tonights play will be with an eye to smashing them on Wednesday vs Ducks.


Similar with Florida, they are a tough enough team that I dont see them losing tonight – they have lost three straight - and the next two on their home stand.


I have a whole structure of ml/pl/rev pl parlays in position to enhance return and mitigate risk while providing phasing during the evening to adjust to results, I ran out of time today to post but I will later this evening. I parlayed the Islanders with Atlanta Hawks this morning on ML/ATS to start the day. Speak shortly
