Bad beats have dwindled my BR over the past few months so its time to get much more selective and lower my bets until I can get back on track and cash some plays. Hopefully now as we are over a week into the season and we see some up and coming talent I can make some better decisions.

Small card tonight, lots of spots but lines seem to be pretty spot on.
Will post plays once locked in.

Main purpose for this thread is simply to track my bets, My goal is to stay selective and have only a few spots but Hockey has this magical ability to offer so many great opportunities on a single night. It also is great at having nights were the unthinkable happens in every game and it can literally choke you out.

Had a great streak that paid for a semester of college a year ago but since then I have had to bring down my risk amount, but by all means, Id love to get something going this NHL/NBA/NFL season and imitate that success.

(Living just outside of Toronto I know that there are multiple story lines hovering these team daily and now its a Goalie Controversy. Whatever fuels the story best is usually what happens so I can see a great start from James Reimer. Howard has been great for the Wings but this is Toronto's offenses game to win or loses. I see a 3-2 2-1 game. Under Is the only Playable side)

(Coin flip here, more likely to trust Pekka Rinne but Im leaning Under )

(Oilers showed they can generate offense but Scrivens cannot be bet on unless odds are +160/+170 or higher... even @ home. Over has a nice price considering two offenses that can score but my only worry is Miller finally getting his feet set and shutting the door. Canucks line is too high for the road looking ahead to a tough matchup vs Tampa Bay tomorrow night)

Minnesota +110 @ Anaheim -130
Over 5.5 +115 / Under 5.5 -135
(Minnesota hasnt played for almost a week so there is no telling what team will show up. They did beat up on a regressing Avalanche squad but will be visiting a Top 3 NHL Team when playing @ Home. Anaheim or no play)

I expect Pekka Rinne to continue to play well tonight and the team should be looking to control the tempo and safe some energy looking ahead to Chicago tomorrow. Jets also struggle to score against elite goaltenders.

Again I expect Nashville to keep this game under control. Calgary will struggle tonight against Bobrovsky and Columbus wont generate enough offense to embarrass Karri Ramo

5 of the last 9 went to extra time. Both teams are just looking to get some points, Neither team is going to dominate and if tied late the teams will coast to OT.

Flames will come out flat tonight after a lucky win in Chicago... and the Ducks will be playing a Minnesota team that will have trouble finding its legs on the road against a team that is much better @ home than the Colorado Avalanche.

Hey I locked in Tampa last night when they were still +money

I see alot of high juice teams that Im only willing to take in a parlay or in regulation... but im nervous because of all the extra time matches.

As for your 4 leans I like them all.

Penguins look decent but Islanders have been hot an -160 is a high price right now, might fade the public and take the under.

Chicago is good but Preds always show up against them. If Pekka is in net then probably a no play if its the backup then Bhawks PL/Reg/TTo3 maybe even the o5.5

Bruins should roll but -210 in a league with such parity is way to much, maybe a regulation play but Bruins haven't been sharp and game could reach OT if buffalo get good goaltending.... Better spots tonight IMO

Not sold on New Jersey yet so Sharks may be nice price considering there dominance historically in October.

Scrivens came out before the Vancouver game and took ownership for where he has struggled and promised results. He gave them when he came out and stopped all but 1

I feel tonight his confidence will be there while his teams isn't, they still cant score and why would I expect them to start against Ben Bishop.

This under feels right and Tampa Bay will score enough to take the W. Worst case scenario for Tampa I see this game going to OT tied @ 1 or 2 and in both of those cases the total falls under 5.5.

1.35u/1u Montreal Canadiens ML (-135) The Red Wings have offensive issues and the comeback of Datsyuk is going to be a slight distraction and probably a let down spot. The team will be trying to feed him a lot of pucks and he just isn't 100%. Him rushing back has me scared as a Wings fan he may re-aggravate his injury. The Habs are a great team and one of my picks for an Eastern Conference Contender. I will bet on Price @ Home in a situation for him to get things going against a struggling offense that is currently 1 dimensional. Howard had a great road start vs the Leafs but a repeat performance will be difficult as PK Subban will be getting lots of shots from the point that Howard is known for struggling against.

I beleive both offenses will struggle and this will come down to the defenses playing well in front of there goalies. Leafs typically would be at the disadvantage here but I think the focus on these off days has been to practice protecting the net more than getting on the offensive.

Fights, Penalties, Everything you can think of. This Philly team has shown they can compete on the road after rallying against Dallas and they will in this one from the start. Once things get out of hand the benches will be brawling the goals will be rolling. Should be a great game and I feel this one is really much more of a coin flip when the power plays get so much use. Ill take the +170 and watch both teams generate goal after goal.

.5u/.75u Florida Panthers ML (+150) Now I know Im going to get some grief on this selection but oh well. The Panthers are playing great defense in front of Luongo and he will be able to have a great season without all the pressure that comes in playing in a Hot market. The Avs are in trouble.... big trouble... I have this team ending the season from the outside looking in as the goal-tending is not going to be consistent with all these backups getting the starts. This team needs Valarmov and until he proves hes healthy I will be playing lots of dogs that are priced well against the Avs.
