good Defense is what's making a good goalie a good goalie...he can be a stellar goalie, but without good D it means very little

out of those 5 goals how many do you think he had a good chance to stop?

I know how he was playing in October and November when it was cruical for Coyotes to win some. Garbage. Dubnyk was light years ahead of him. Take a look at Miller when he was in Buffalo or Enroth now. Halak with Islanders... mediocre defense and good goaltending. Smith is crap this year.

He has better stats on a worse team than Smith. When Sabres managed to win some he would face 40 SOG and bring them to OT and win in SO. As much as I watched him play before New Year he was standing on his head often or Sabres would be losing 10-1. Can't say the same for Smith. He had a few good games when I watched but mostly he sucked and it was like watching Bryzgalov. Enroth has a shutout even, only an illusion to get one for Smith this year

I agree you can't do shit without good D but Smith is struggling mightily this year and given his form from the past seasons he most definitly is one of the biggest letdowns of the season.

The Coyotes blocked a ton of shots for Smith today killing off all those penalties.

Wow, that was amazing. Flames down 2-0 in the first, still down 2-0 in the second, then 9 minutes into the 3rd they're up 3-2, then 4-2 a couple minutes later.

They really are the best 3rd period team in the league right now.

Bailed out of Canes Under 1.5 too...so hard to hold a team to 1 and Sabres burned me last night.
