I hear ya Jay and I guess everyone has a different strategy and ways to look at these lines. Some play more aggressive, others more defensive. By buying a goal you're already saying that there is a good possibility of them losing a game...and your only hope here is that they don't lose that game by more than a goal.

I guess my reasoning for Hawks +1 at -230 is my confidence in them to win - that if by chance they lose in a shootout or some odd goal, I still get a push...just hope they are not down 1 late with a chance to get an empty-net against them...I'd rather pay -230 than -350 at +1.5, which is even greater risk...now the fact that you are taking them ML and -1 is a bit risky too, but I know that's your style.
We'll see how it pans out...just trying different things - seeing what works best.
