Thing with Flames is they're riding this Ortio guy who was up and down last year. He was 4-4 last year with a .891 SVP in the NHL, and like I said split time in the AHL and even got demoted to the ECHL for a few games. He's been unbelievable this year.

I'm a big believer in stats and "regression to the mean" and I think that 4-0 record with a 1.23 GAA and .958 SVP has some "regressing" to do.

And just by the fact that Calgary is an average team, I don't see them sweeping the California teams.

My plays for the day. Yes, low sums, I am in college and don't have a huge budget but I like to play about 5 bets a night and have been hitting more than I've been losing lately.

Chicago/Pittsburgh– over 5.5 goals (+105)
Risk 20 to make 21

Fleury and Crawford have both been iffy lately. Both teams played lastnight, fatigue leads to sloppy games.

Risked 10 to make 12.50

I feel like the Flames on the under is always a good bet. Andersen is a great goalie. Ortio has been good as well, though I'm not convinced as I just said.

More of a value play but I do believe this Toronto team will win tonight. Ottawa isn't better than them, and they played last night. Toronto doesn't want to deal with this media for the whole break. Worth a play, not like I'm expecting to win.

Pittsburgh sucks lately. They were outskated by Philly last night, who my Isles toyed with the day before.

Even if he is the real deal, which I'm not convinced, no NHL goalie has those numbers. The best goalies have .930 SVP and 2 GAA (Rinne .931/1.96, Price .929/2.15, Lundqvist .921/2.25)

The highest SVP for a goalie who's played at least 15 games is .932 (Hutchinson), the lowest GAA is 1.86 (Elliott)! Both aren't even true starters, more so 1A/1B guys who split time. No matter what, there's gonna be some regression for Ortio, it may not be tonight but it'll come!

I bet a lot more than I post, Rollin. I also do various big plays that never make it into this thread. As I mentioned in my very 1st post here, a 1-2 unit range is strictly designed to keep this thread easy to follow for everyone and also to see if it's possible to turn a profit at the end of the season without chasing losses with monster plays.
And as far as where the cash is coming from? Well many guys work I'm sure...I've worked for myself for over 7-8 years now.

I would do Over 5 in Leafs, Hawks (ML) - reg. and Ducks ML
Even so, I would just play each seperately if you feel strongly about them...maybe Ducks -1 though instead of ML.

Not saying that Flames are going to complete the sweep for sure but I think they have a much better chance than the books are giving them credit for tonight. Both teams playing well overall and in their respective situations as of late (Road vs Home) and the season series is split at 1 a piece so far. Both of the previous times these two teams met this year were one goal games. I really think this one is a bit of a coin toss and if that is true then getting spotted 1 goal at even money is great value. Maybe Calgary gets the sweep and makes me some money. Maybe they lose a one goal game and I get a push. I just don't see anyone winning this by multiple goals.
