1st play(s) in nhl since Olympics...had on my mind to wait a few games before continuing...please keep in mind that I have only watched 1 nhl game all season, so my plays are strictly from a stats/trends perspective.

Minnesota Wild (-1) -108
Just can't see Calgary taking this game against a home team that has been lights out this year and playing well since the break.
The odds are not bad, so worth a shot. Only way to lose is if Calgary wins...may take the ML if odds drop to -170.
Buffalo-Dallas (Under 5.5)
Not a popular pick today, but my gut was telling me this when I saw the lines first thing this morning. Dallas has been better on the road and 5 of last 6 games has gone Under for Stars.
Buffalo playing well lately, and are not giving up a ton of goals and even held Sharks to just 2 goals in last outting. If they hold Dallas to 3 goals, Under should hit, as Buffalo averages 1.25 goals per game on the road. Another option is to take Buffalo (Under 2.5 goals)...unsure of the odds for this, but at -140 or better, I may do that instead.Comment -
For the moneyline Buffalo is a pretty decent pick +180
Id say Calgary/Min goes over 5
Buffalo ML looks good i can see it going as high as +200 at game time

Well, if the line had gone down for Minny ML to -170, would have done that instead...ended up with a push there.

OK - just took 15 minutes glancing at the games and there were 4 that stood out as a strong possiblity of going Under.
The play I'm going with is Vancouver-Phoenix as both teams are jostling for the last spot in the playoffs...not that either will get past Round 1, but you never know! This will be a tightly-checked game as neither team can afford to give up 3 or more goals and win. The Under has hit in the last 5 meetings between these teams in Phoenix. From what I recall, the Under has hit in 8 of last 11 Phoenix home games.
I think both goalies will be locked in and we see a 3-1 or 3-2 score...with a lean to Phoenix winning.
The line is -145 at 5Dimes - a little juicy for my liking, but I'm taking a shot as this line is an indication of the chances that it will hit.

Because it's a little juicey, going to wager the same amount as last night.
To put it in perspective...
Last night I wagered .6 units to win .5 units
Tonight I'm going with .6 units to win .4 units
I really should put down more on Unders with such a good record and good feel for them, but they are about half of what I do for parlays/teasers and for ML plays...for that, my gains are small. I really didn't think I'd have such success.
Overall I think I have good plays, but my wagering technique is poor...this is my 1st year of sports betting, and still learning lots.Comment -

Man, this has been a real bad start to the week.
Feel like taking a break from this.
I had 4-5 great plays tonight and had to put them in 2 parlays...end up losing...3 losing nights in a row.
Even had Sharks (+1/2) after 60 min. and got greedy and did ML instead.
Was going to play Baylor -3, Prov. ML, Parlay (Houston Cougars (ML)/Oregon (ML)), Milwaukee ML, Canes-Sharks (Under)...but no, couldn't stay away from parlay city...another freakin lesson in sports betting...hate it!
Had I played the way I thought originally would have been up several units instead of having a losing night...lots of studying, thinking, etc. over last month and $5 to show for it...just not worth it man.Comment -

Yeah, no kidding, though this year, Sharks are not quite as dominant at home. If you want a free play of mine...no lock or anything...go with Montreal (Under 2.5) tonight. I have read that the Anaheim goalie is very good vs. Canadiens at home. They just beefed up their D too with some trades...I have no clue about individual players other than goaltenders in nhl really. Since I see Ducks winning tonight on home ice, I think that may be the best play. I was leaning Under 5.5, but Ducks could score 4. Also considering that Ducks have great penalty killing, and Montreal thrives on PP goals. Just don't go crazy with the pick man...and you don't have to play it if you're not feelin' it.
Not good to make the same play in more than 1 bet...though I have it tonight in SMU (+3.5) and (+9) in a parlay...hope I don't get burned!Comment -
I kind of put myself in a bind as I put in 2 futures with Boston a long time ago that are looking pretty good right now.

Boston (Eastern conf. champs) -400
They were both small wagers so if I lose a bet with Boston ML, the first one is pretty much wiped out...not sure if that makes sense, but I shy away from teams I have in futures (Boston and StL)Comment -

your under picks have been solid.. why dont you just play unders ... till your bank roll increases? i stopped playing parlays of over 2 games, just waste of money. try out reverse if bets.. the payout is a bit less but at the same time even if one loses you still get some money back. rather then lose the whole amount

Tried a Reverse Action last night - didn't put it in, but confused about how it works. In my last 3 parlays, 2 of 3 have won, so would be nice to know about this.
