    Saturday Picks
Winnipeg Jets -145: Since Paul Maurice took over, the Jets have been undefeated. Not sure if it is a coincidence or not, but they are playing better. A matchup at home against the lowly Edmonton Oilers should give the Jets a chance to remain undefeated under their new coach. And although the Jets haven't played the greatest of competition in their last 2 games (Calgary & Phoenix), they've scored 10 goals. Meanwhile the Oilers have had a stretch of tough games. I'll roll with the hot hand here, and take the Jets.

Will update with some more opinions shortly... Opinions are welcome

      Columbus Blue Jackets -126

These guys are on a roll as of late. They've won 5 in a row, having scored 20 goals, and only conceding nine. While they are averaging over a goal against per game in their last 5, Bobrovsky is really coming into form. Going into Buffalo, against a Sabres team that has only won four of their last 10. Only one of those four victories came in regulation, while two were in a shootout, and one in OT. They've lost two straight at home, including their last meeting with the Jackets in October (1-4 Jackets). While the Sabres have been playing much better than they were at the beginning of the season, the Jackets are hot right now, and it's hard to go against them, especially with Bobrovsky in net.

*Another possibility I see for this game could potentially be Under 5 +100.. Only 1 of Buffalo's last five home games has gone over 5. And although the Jackets can score, they are coming off a back-to-back situation.

      Carolina Hurricanes -140

Both these teams have struggled this season, and both are still trying to find some consistency. Carolina had gone on a nice little stretch, winning five in a row. Of those five, 3 were at home against the Leafs, Predators and Canadians. Their two away victories came against the Capitals and the Islanders. So those are by no means five horrendous opponents, but since then they lost to an in-form Columbus side, and their last defeat was against Calgary at home. Two straight shutouts for the Canes, which doesn't look so good for their offense. They welcome a Florida side that has alternated wins and losses in their last nine games. Of their last nine, Florida played three away games, having lost 2. Coming off a home defeat to the Sharks, this one could be a toss-up, but I give the home side the slight edge here. Of their last seven meetings, the home team has won five.
