    Rollin's Hockey Leans - Thursday Jan. 2
Hey guys - Happy New Year! Hoping to have better fortune betting winners this year!
The first 1/3 of the season I went 5-11 betting on ML favorites. Yikes!
My Under plays hit 65% of the time, so I'll be doing about 2/3 Under plays.

    Play #1:
    Winnipeg-Ottawa (Under 5.5)
These teams don't shoot that much and Winnipeg just doesn't score much, but is more defensive minded (from what I read). The Jets goalie has been really good lately - hope he gets the start again.

    Play #2:
Parlay: Boston (ML) / Phoenix (+1)
Can Boston lose again at home? I think they come back strong with a win. Phoenix played well last game - I don't think that their goaltender (is it Smith?) gives up 3 again. I think Coyotes win SU, but just to be safe.

    Play #3:
    Chicago (-.5 in reg.)
Blackhawks one of best road teams. I'll take the hotter of the 2 teams right now vs. an Isles team that is playing better, but can they keep it up?

    Play #4:
    Buff-Minn (Under 5)
This is my weakest play of the night...just seems like this lends itself to a 2-1 or 3-1 game in favor of Minnesota.

Any feedback would be awesome. Thanks!!!

So I like the under in the Ottawa match, but that is all dependent on whether Montoya and Anderson start. If Montoya doesn't start, that means Pavelec does, and he's been AWFUL lately. Think he has 1 win and 6 losses, while posting a GAA of 3.00+...

I agree with the Bruins. They gave up a freebie against the Islanders, and I would expect them to come out guns blazzin tonight. But a small note, we are expecting a nor'easter here, and there has been some talk that they could potentially cancel the game, but nothing has been confirmed..

Blackhawks look like a good pick, but seeing how the Isles have been playing lately, seems like more of a toss-up than one would have expected. But team for team, Hawks should win. And the Under in the Minn game looks good as well. Neither team scores very much, but i also like Minn to win. Buffalo are dealing with a lot of injuries.

Thanks mgon! I'm thinking of actually just playing the Winn-Ottawa Under now...will take Blackhawks with a better ML and Isles are unpredictable now. The line for the under in Buffalo-Minn is a bit juiced for my liking with an U5 (-125). And Minnesota might come out on fire and run up 4 goals on Buffalo since they need this one badly.
