Obvious pick tonight: Colorado will snap loosing streak.
I'm playing the Avalanche here to win in Regulation, and here are my main reasons for this pick:

    Goaltender situation:
    - Goaltending is a serious serious problem in Winnipeg. Pavelec is just too unreliable, up and down all the time.
Montoya in Goal, he IS NOT a NHL quality goaltender. This is one of the strongest point to this bet.
Varlamov is good in goal and is the clear Nr 1 goalie in Colorado.

Finish year on a positive note from a team that has been playing well overall.
    - Finish of the end of the year with two Wins against teams they are suppose to beat if they want to go to the playoffs.

Dynamic Line with fast skating sounds like a bad mismatch for Byfuglien and co.

Top line for Colorado with Matt Duschene will be to difficult for Ellerby and Byfuglien to contain, generally fast and dynamic lines is not good for big and slow defense.

Losing streak, need to be broken
The fact that Colorado has lost 3 in a row now, 2 in OT against LA and Sharks away (Hard losses), got to think that they are due to put this game away in Regulation.

2.00 at the moment, I think it will go down to 1.95 to 1.85 before game starts

Cory Sarich in the lineup as well! He's size is needed for the matchup with Wheeler and Ladd.

Yes it's not obvious for sure, but I think this is the best play of the night.

Thats lame. Jets win with 1 second left in OT. Not sure what the outcome could have been in SO but...

This Avs team has just collapsed.

Only 3 wins in the last 10, a few OT losses

No kidding. There is nothing obvious about NHL...so hard to pick winners IMO.
