I've submitted an inquiry with Bovada about the Sharks Sabres match last night. I'll post the response here after I get it.
For years in the NHL, there was a guy sitting in behind the glass pressing a button when the puck crossed the line to signify a goal. That was replaced with a better system...or was it?
For any of you that think this is "all part of sports" or whatever, understand that this isn't Seahawks-Packers debacle of last season on MNF. This is worse, much worse. In the NFL, the referees on the field are responsible for reviewing the replays. There's a human element in the MLB also. In the NHL, there's no expectation that this could happen - it isn't part of the equation so it shouldn't factor into the outcome.
I made an average sized wager on the sharks -135 when they were down 2-1. I shouldn't lose my hard earned money, why, because the some guy at the NHL's war room in Toronto didn't do his job? (not a hard job by the way, and it was the only game going on at the time - I mean come on....)
NHL is probably going to try to gloss over it in tomorrow's news headlines by saying it was an implied whistle or some bullshit. For people who watch the game, we know that is bullshit. Imagine if you had real steak on this game though - would some bullshit like that really suffice? Honestly, I think this is so bad that a Vegas casino taking someone's hard earned money on a Sharks loss last night should be illegal.
