Well it looks like we have hockey this year so let's get this thread going again! This is my 5th year doing this with year 4 being cancelled.

So this thread is based on the JM style - which you may have seen in threads throughout SBR for all sports. Here are the past three years' records.

So to summarize what's going on in this thread:

I will still track both V1 and V2 plays but I am only going to be wagering on V1 plays.

Here are the rules for V1 and V2:

Version 1

• 3 game chase
• 3 (or more) game road trip
• At least one opponent of the first three games must be out of conference (OOC)
• Only playing the first three games (if the road trip is 6 games long, we DO NOT split it into two series)

Version 2

• Same as Version 1 except there is no OOC restriction. All 3 game road trips are played.

I will post plays in this thread with as much notice as I can. I do get busy from time to time but I will try to get them in here well before puck drop. Looking forward to a profitable season and some great conversation!

Ok, sorry about the lack of replies. Been very busy lately. It looks like the first couple series are going to start to start this Friday with the LA Kings as a V1 and the Dallas Stars as a V2.

I've been meaning to post here regarding the series that start early in the season. One filter that I forgot to mention is that we don't start any series that starts within a teams first 3 games of the season. This got rid of about 8 early plays. Of those 8 (FLA, NYR, TAM, OTT, PHX, NJD, COL, MTL), 3 won on the A bet (FLA, OTT, COL), 3 won on the B (NYR, TAM, NJD), MTL starts tonight but PHX is already at a C bet. Not a good situation to be in just a week into the season. But I'm just hypothesizing at this point.

So again, first official plays are on Friday. I will post when I make the wager with the line I get.

ejackson - you are exactly correct. This is Dallas' third game so no V2 play on them.

But I still hope everyone caught the Kings (as I posted yesterday) tonight as the first series of the season and came away with a win. Making the official post just after this one.
