Also like the Flyers to win against the Leafs. It's a good match up for Philly, and Toronto is coming off a game last night. I like the value for Anaheim playing @ Colorado. The Ducks are the new Capitals; season champs, playoff flops. Neither are plays for me though, as I'm investing in a convincing Detroit victory tonight.

I like DET and Columbus as well but wasn't the kings much better at home last year?

Kings were shaky on the road last season, true. This year should be back to form; they were very good on the road in their Cup year, and the seasons before that as well. The x-factor tonight is the b2b situation. I still have the Kings slight favourites, so I'll take the plus.

Buffalo is also an intriguing team, Ott-Buf games are usually close and competitive. I'm laying off, and hoping Detroit wins tonight.

Brad Stuart is returning to the lineup for the Sharks, so thats a boost for them. SJ winning 8 straight at the Shark Tank is factor, and NYR is coming off a big win against LA last night. It's confirmed Henrik Lundqvist will be starting again for NYR, not sure how much effect it will have early in the season. It's interesting to note that the Rangers have registered a point in 8 of the last 10 meetings against the Sharks going all the way back to '01.
San Jose is closing out a 3 game home stand before they travel to Vancouver. I do think SJ wins, it could be closer than expected, but the Sharks are tough beat at home.

Other games: hard to back Colorado(@Tor) till they show they can win on the road. Varlamov(Col) didn't win a road game until late April last season. Maybe they have some hope;Colorado were actually pretty good against the East in '11-'12 compiling a record of 13-4-1.
