sorry for the confusion on my part, but what are the -1 spreads? Is it the same as a regulation win? I see it as a true -1 meaning they have to win by 2 or more, which makes me wonder why not take the -1.5.

I know i'm missing something here...

Yes they have to win by two.

I actually am more comfortable laying (1-) with dogs and getting the better return. IMO Vegas loves people laying (1-) on big favs in pucks (or baseball).

I gotchya, so it at least guarantees a push if they win by one. What about betting the dog reg. line? still get great odds on those lines as well

I use to bet dogs regulation time years back and had little success. I should re look at those now.
I'm actually thinking about betting more 1st period dogs. It seems dogs score early only to have the better talent (favs like Boston and the Pens) come back to win time and again.
