Noone really stands out this year, but if you had to choose?
I'm always partial to goalies so I'll say Brodeur

As much as it annoys me, the Penguins have the two best players in the league. Yep, Crosby and Malkin.
On D, probably Erik Karlsson right now. He just needs a little more seasoning on the defensive end, and he'll be considered a generational talent IMO.

Karlsson is an amazing skater, but he gets bullied and he's weak on the stick. Best D Man: Weber

SCS has got it... Crosby is easily the best player right now and anyone who can't see that obly doesn't understand this game. The kid is down right nasty and is an all around player with top notch stick/puck skills. Legend in the making He'll set records playing in Pittsburg and expect multiple cups in the near future.
Malkin is a Top 5 player as well no doubt..

Crosby is straight up scary with the puck, Pitt 1st line makes Ottawa look like scrubs. This new NHL is made for the Penguins

Active Players
Forward: Unarguably Crosby is the best player in the league. Malkin can be more brilliant but is more up and down. Consistency makes Crosby the best player. Defense: Any day of the week I take Weber over Karlsson, as overall player Weber is better, offensively Karlsson is better. Goalie: I have to agree with Brodeur, he just keep playing A-Class
Retired Players: Forward: Mario Lemieux Defense: Niklas Lidström or Bobby Orr Goalie: Dominik Hasek (When he dominated NO ONE COULD SCORE on him!!)

Seeing a lot of 'guins up in this bitch
Malkin could be better if he were as SMART of a player as Crosby. He can be a hot-head, a puck-hog, and a show-boat, but when he's on his game he's a force to be reckoned with.
Enough has been said about Crosby, he showed a nice display of hand-eye coordination again last night!
If you watch any sort of highlight reel style clip of Crosby's goals you will notice that on the majority of them the announcers burst out laughing because of how ridiculously talented he is.
On a side note, i'm a big fan of Stamkos.

Goalie: Brodeur or Fasth!

Offe: Kovalchuk, St Louis, Crosby/Malkin

Even as a Rangers fan, I would probably Crosby: if his propensity for injury wasn't an issue. Stamkos is far more likely to remain healthy, and with production on the same level as a healthy Crosby...he has to be the answer to this question.

Aside from Sidney, I'd say most complete forward is definetely Pavel Datsyuk. He's the smartest hockey player I've ever seen.
