Sorry, was driving. This has been such a strange game. Interesting the books FINALLY change the team total from 3.5 to 2.5, and they're dead on!

I typed the post above before I saw your post, jsyk. I wouldn't give either side more than a 50% chance here. I'd have to lean to the Sens as they are at home, risk going down 3-0, and scored a last minute goal to tie it up.

Because, for example, the Pens have some incredible shooters. Just because three guys can snipe the water bottle off the top of the net every time one on one with the goaltender doesn't make them the better "team." Too much individual impact of SO's. Unlimited OT, the best "team" is more likely to prevail.
Anyways, 5d doesn't have this prop, but if it exists...I would play that the game will go to triple OT if the odds were big enough! I wouldn't be surprised at all!Comment -

ya but what if your having to play a 12 hr hockey game. and then come back and have to play another 12 hour hockey game. very unlikely, but possible, and no athlete you should have to do that, esp in the playoffs.Comment -

Playoffs usually have a day off in between games, if not more (travel). Regular season overtime is played 4 on 4, opens up the ice and leads to better scoring opportunities. The problem is it's only a 5 minute period before going to a shootout. Play it out 4 on 4, odds of someone not scoring in the first overtime are pretty remote. Shootouts are gimmicky, anti-climatic, and take the game out of the players hands. Sh*tty way to settle a game. Basketball would never decide a game with a free throw shooting contest, hell the NFL plays a full quarter before settling for a tie and they're much more susceptible to serious injury. Can you tell I hate them?
