    NHL Monday :
The Detroit Red Wings are on a 5 game winning streak, 2-0 on current West Coast road trip.

The Vancouver Canucks return home after successful East Coast road trip. Vancouver is on a 3 game winning streak.

The Canucks are coming home after road trip in 3 different time zones with only one day rest to fight the jet lag. And guess what, the no 2 team in the Western Conference is waiting for them.

We have a reverse role here with the road team getting the schedule edge since the home team made the tougher road trip for this matchup. Terrible schedule for Vancouver.

I like Detroit chances, Wings playing well and in good spot. You pay a 20 cents fee betting Detroit since Roberto Luongo is injured. Doesn't matter, worth the shot.

    Detroit (-150)

The Washington Capitals will play the final game of a long road trip tonight in Minnesota. The Capitals lost their last two games in Los Angeles and San Jose.

The Minnesota Wild lost two straight one goal games at home against Vancouver and St-Louis.

Washington can't wait to get back home right now. They are coming from the West Coast where the team is hit by injuries. The Capitals will play another game without top guns Alex Semin and Mike Green. Versatile Center Sergei Fedorov returned for one period in the Caps last game before calling his night off. Fedorov is also out tonight. The Minnesota Wild is catching the Capitals at the right time. Washington is banged up, shorthanded and playing through tough schedule. I like the Wild chances, the ingredients are there for a win. Washington can't keep the puck out of their net right now, they have allowed at least 4 goals in each of their last 4 games and allowed 12 goals in last 2 games.

    Minnesota (-165)

The Phoenix Coyotes stop at Madison Guarden tonight. Phoenix is on a 5 game winless streak and lost a few heartbreaking games.

The NY Rangers are on 2 game winless streak and are coming from two straight lack luster outings.

The NY Rangers are playing a team playing a third game in four nights and they need a win badly. New York will get a shot in the arm tonight with the return of creative playmaker Scott Gomez. The Rangers need offense, they will get two good offensive lines tonight. I like the Rangers chances, I think they can attack the Coyotes defense. The Rangers are a solid home team, the Coyotes a suspect road team. I think you get 10-15 cents value here.

      NY Rangers (-155)

The Dallas Stars are going to a tough stretch. Bunch of injuries to forwards. In a one week span down went power forward Brendon Morrow, winger Jere lethinen, winger Steve Ott. Forward Joel Lundquist remains out. Huge lines shuffling with injuries and call ups from minors.

The Stars don't have much chemistry right now, too many changes. The Flyers are on a 3 game winning streak and are getting decent goaltending at the moment. I like the Flyers chances. Hot team against cold team. Good value.
