Broke the stinkin' crapola streak yesterday. No skid marks staining Light The Lamp today, we're goin' back-2-back Dubyas!
(Season: 9-6)
Ottawa +105
The Senators seem to be playing their best puck of the season with 4 wins in their last 5. They've also been successful on the road in Carolina with 9 wins in their last 13 trips. Ottawa is also 3-1-0-1 on the road this young season. Goaltending has been a key in the resurgence of Ottawa with Auld doing the dirty work with a 1.85 GAA. However, tonight Martin Gerber is expected in net and still we tempt fate by sticking with the Sens. Gerber has a 6-3 lifetime mark vs. Carolina and a GAA under 2. Before he was injured, he was suffering through the season with 4 starts and 3 losses - giving up at least 3 goals in every game. And yet still ... we ... stick ... with Ottawa?
YES! Perhaps because the Hurricanes might find home unfamiliar to them with just 4 home games in 13 overall so far. Carolina is 2-2 in those games and has been a bit iffy in goal in their own right with 8 of their last 10 seeing their opponents score at least 3 goals. We say go with the hotter team that has had a good amount of success in this series (OTT has 15 wins in the last 24 meetings) and light the mudda forkin' LAMP TO VICTORY!
