I believe home teams wear dark colors so the goaltender can pick up the puck better off the white jerseys.


Playing ping-pong in college.....one wall was dark and the other white. For evenly matched players, the player facing the black wall won practically every time. There was a tremendous difference. I believe this is why the home teams wear dark jerseys in hockey.
