    How to compute edge
Hi, I know this is a bit of a newbie question, but here's my example:

    Pinnacle odds of -200/+183

You are offered +280 on the underdog and -129 on the favorite, but can only bet one (don't ask).

How do you compute the edge for each side?

Pinny Nio Vig Line is about +/-188, so fave is 188/288 = 65.3%, dog = 34.7%

    -129 is 129/229 = 56.3%, so edge = 9.0%
    +280 is 100/380 = 26.3%, so edge = 8.4%

So -129 is better, although both are good.

Assuming I'm not constrained in any way in terms of getting down, give me -129 all day.

Although the edge with +280 is almost twice what it is with -129, -129 has a much higher $win exp.

to the OP, use a kelly calculator to figure out how much you should be getting down and on what side.
