Hoping to improve my handicapping skills!
I understand injuries, home court/field, situational, power ratings, matchups, weather, time off all play a role in handicapping, but is there a numerical value placed on these variables or are they just subjectively added to the entire decision/capping process. I'm sure there are more variables that can be added, but when you do these, all can be very time consuming. Suppose I'm trying to analyze a game, how do you come up with a predicted score total and spread? Are there any mathematical formulas to use and what are they. Can these mathematical formulas be applies to basketball and football?
