Spread to Moneyline calculator now offered on SBRforum

The latest addition to SBR's Betting Tools is a calculator devised to help players estimate the spread or moneyline using only one of the two betting options. The tool can help forecast the price of a moneyline not yet released or help identify the better value when the player is deciding whether to take the moneyline or the spread.

    Cool stuff.

Can anyone explain the Patriots ML and the -14 spread. Doesn't make sense to me.

it is because of the ambiguity of injuries to Tomlinson, Gates, and Rivers. If the play the Chargers can easily win SU, but if not then they will lose by a lot

You would have to add a home/away option on the calculator for that one.

What a handy thing to have.

Does it work based on historical lines data so that this is what the line tends to be at these spreads? Or were they extrapolated from some kind of results data so that these are what the moneylines should have been at these spreads?

without looking at the Ganchulator the correlations in the playoffs and regular season are not the same.

Another wonderful tool. Thanks a lot, Ganch. Now, if you could only find a little time to answer some of the PMs I sent you lately you would be the perfect man.

                        Bump.

Is there a post that explains the methodology behind the spread to ML converter? It doesn't just add up the push-values from the half-point calculator does it?

Yeah how does this tool work. Does it have multiply the push freq from halfpoint calculator with some certain function which is =1 at the spread and lower the further away you get? If so, what function do you use?

Edit: I checked it out. It runs straight of the halfpoint calculators push freq.

ganchrow admitted that one of the main faults with this tool is that it does not take totals as an input, ideally any type of moneyline generator would be dependent on 2 main inputs: the projected spread and the projected total, and/or vice-versa.
