    What is wrong with this
I really dont know what i am doing wrong? Is it possible to bet where you just win the games that win by one run? Say for example tonite the pitts and philly game was -340 if you took pitt + 1 1/2 runs for 269 at +130 then you would bet the other side at -350 for 100, if you did this on every game would you only win the ones that win by one run. The others you would break even. Is this correct or am i missing something?

Most of the time, the +1.5 has big - odds, so you usually do not break even if the game does not land on one.

You can't set up an exact break-even if both sides are negative. The best you can do is break even with one result and lose a little with the other (one-run wins aside).

LT What if you use the reverse run line ? Say for example you use philly +1 1/2 the odds may be -500. Then you would take + 300 or so would this work or am i missing something?

If you create your bet such that you only win when it is a one run victory, then there is no way to avoid a loss when it is not a one run victory.

You could bet +1 or -1 if that's what you were interested in. Some books offer this directly. If they don't, you can create it yourself.

You could set this up but as LT said because of the juice and the probable win % this bet would have more -EV than a straight bet usually.

No because the - odds on alt run line are higher than the + odds on dog

Oh and by the way, if the Phillies win, you lose $169, so you are dead from the get-go.

+1.5 -500 would be a gift on a game lined at -340 or whatever the Phillies went off at. The alt RL there would be around +1.5 -620 at a minimum.
