    Ev bets/ pointers to improve
I’m an everyday bettor trying to improve. Can the veterans give me some pointers? Specifically on the ev bets, I’ve been reading about this strategy. You’re suppose to compare sharp outs to square outs?

Best advice ANYONE can give you. Limit your plays. No need to play more than 1 game per day. You have to limit your
exposure. Next, make sure you can afford to lose what you bet. Over the long run, you will lose money. The key is having
fun and only losing the amount you can afford to.

Please I am trying to be helpful. Listen to this advice. Put aside how much you can afford to lose and expect it to be gone
over time. Any chance of winning takes about 10 years of betting experience. Any odds are still stacked against you.

The vast majority of all betting options have a negative expected value for the player. In sports (and other games like poker, video poker, blackjack) it is possible to find some bets where the expected value is positive. Bet on those. Only bet on those.

The Expected Value formula is pretty much set in stone. The n value is the odds the sports books offer. The p value is whatever you decide to assign to the probability. However you decide to enter the value is up to you. Do it correctly and you win money. One way to do so with near certainty is to use market price. When the majority of the marketplace (to include US, Europe, Asia, Caribbean, sports books) has the favorite at -180 and the under dog at +160, you can very safe in assuming betting the favorite at -160 and the dog at +180 are +EV bets. Other guys like to make their own predictions independently of whatever prices the sportsbooks are offering. Do that better than the sportsbooks and any bets you make will be +EV.
