Relationshop between football spread & odds

There must be a standard formula, but I can't quite figure it out. I looked at a bunch of even-money spreads. On those, the ratio of odds/spread was usually between 40 and 50. If the spread is 3, the favorite is usually at -145 (a factor of 48).

How is this figured?

You mean Asian handicaps conversion to ML? Apparently it is quite a trick. I have a pdf on the subject,m not sure how good it is. I'll put it up as an attachment.
