    FREAK PICS!!! (Week 9)
I have written extensively about this game in various threads about why Auburn is one of the best plays on the board this week. I got this game at +3.5. The line is currently +3 at Bookmaker. I would consider this play a "Best Bet" all the way to Auburn -2.5 so I wouldn't sweat the line too much. As I have said many times, Auburn WILL NOT lose this game!!! I also really, really like the UNDER in this game as well, but I hate betting the side and total in the same game, so I'll lay off.

Auburn +3 @ West Virginia (Best Bet)
Auburn ML @ West Viginia (Best Bet)

I'll also post one game for Saturday that will be a "Best Bet."

Alabama -6.5 @ Tennessee (Best Bet)

If you have any questions about either of these games, please feel free to ask!!! I'll post the rest of my plays friday night as usual.

Freak.... I really think you are underestimating the home field advantage here....Have you ever watched a weekday night game in Morgantown?...easily worth 5-7 points alone...People here have been talking/waiting for this one since it was announced well over a year ago.... Just ask Louisville....VTech, and Miami...We have no rivals in the Big East when it comes to packing a stadium and making some noise and I guarantee our 63,000 fans make almost as much sound as the 100,000 in Nehyland, the Big house, and Happy Valley..We also have no rivals in the BE (other than maybe Pitt) when it comes to the talent and atheletes... (semi thanks to Rich Rod that bum).....

If Auburns offense had shown up just 1 time this year I'd be worried, but they haven't.....You will definately have to sweat out this win if you get it....

I gotta agree with you that this is not an easy win for Auburn. Auburns offense has been nonexistance this year but with rumors of Tubby getting away from the spread has its advantages for Auburn.

Home field advantage helps alot but the fans arent playing the game and you cant rely on that alone to be the deciding factor.

that being said my moneys still on Auburn.

I have to completely DISAGREE with this comment. WVU is not the same team they were under Rodriguez. The play calling has been terrible under Stewart, the only thing going for them is their defense. When has WVU's offense showed up??? The 48 points on Villanova? Or the 27 on Marshall? Stewart has not been confident in White's arm and I think this Auburn defense smacks them in the mouth early and they will be playing from behind the whole time. They have not seen an SEC defense with this 1-dimensional offense and I think it will show tonight...

But we shall see thats why they play the game right?? GL!

If WVA wins, I don't think it by more than 3. I think +3 Auburn is a pretty safe bet.

Yes, I'm very familiar with West Virginia's home field advantage. I was born, and lived most of my life in Virginia. One of my best friends is a huge 'eers fan. Also, my sister and brother-in-law both graduated form Virginia Tech. Some of the younger posters might not remember that Virginia Tech was in the Big East, and the Virginia Tech/West Virginia game was a mamouth rivalry. In fact when Virginia Tech played in Morgantown, West Virginia was known to cancel classes for the day so fans could properly prepare for the game!!! What a school!!!

I also remember the last time Virginia Tech went to Morgantown. They were favored by 14 points and lost straight up something like 27-10. The only Tech touchdown was scored on a bullshit blocked kick return for a touchdown. So even though I've never watched a game in Morganstown, I know about it.

Although West Virginia's home field may confer them a significant advantage against teams like Louisville, Miami and Virginia Tech, it won't have the same effect on Auburn or any other SEC teams. That is so because SEC teams have to endure this type of an environment (and more so) four times a year in conference play. Trust me, you won't rattle Auburn or any other SEC team with a loud stadium. They know how to deal with it.

The big problem for West Virginia in this game is that they won't be able to score against one of the best defenses in the country. The only two decent defenses West Virginia has faced this year is ECU & Colorado against whom they scored 3 and 10 points respectively. Now they face a defense that is far better then any they've faced this year.

The bottom line is that West Virginia WILL NOT score enough points to cover or win this game. I really don't think the game will be very close. Auburn will control this game from wire to wire and will win by something like 20-3.

Congrats on your win!!! I'm still stunned by how poorly Auburn's defense played. My play was based on my faith in Auburn's defense, and how poorly West Virginia's offense had played up to that point. I really thought that 17 points would have been enough to win, or at least cover the spread. I would not have guessed in a million years that they would have shredded Auburn's defense the way they did. I don't think even West Virginia's bettors thought that would have happened either.

                      BOL this weekend buddy!!!

I'm still in shock by Auburn's defensive effort against West Virginia. I really thought 17 points would have been enough to cover the spread in the game.

                              Southern Miss @ Memphis

One of the best plays of the week that's being overlooked is Southern Miss -4 playing at Memphis.

Memphis lost their starting QB (Arkelon Hall) for 4-6 weeks on the first offensive series of the game last week versus ECU, and then preceeded to lose their backup QB Will Hudgens for the season on the second series of the game. Brett Toney then played the majority of the game until freshman Tyler Bass relieved him in the 4th quarter. It's unclear which of those two will get the start today against the Golden Eagles.

Add to that that first year coach Larry Fedora is already on the hot seat for the team's 2 & 5 start (0 & 3 in Conference USA), and you have a desperation "MUST WIN" game for Southern Miss. They will handle their business today and cover the 4 point spread easily!!!

                              to all!!!
