After taking a look at some stats on both teams, I have to agree with you on the first half over/under. Therefore, I like the first half under at 27.5 (-105).

I can see Memphis play better defense at home than they did at UAB. Louisville played good defense and probably would have won the game if it had not been for their QB play. Louisville does play good defense which is much improved from 2007.

Both teams will try to establish the running game. Memphis had a lot of success running against UAB. If Uconn could run for over 200 yards against Louisville, Memphis will try to establish the running game early. I do not think Louisville will try to pass to much in this game. Cardinals qb really struggled in the 2nd half of the game. The tigers defense is prettty good at sacking QBs. Running the football will help keep the first half under 27.5 points in this game. This game has a high total of 55 because Memphis and UAB put up 63 points for the game (and 36 points at the half).

Kicker for louisville, Tim Daugherty, is suspended for two weeks for conduct detrimental to the team which leaves freshman Chris Philpott and redshirt freshman Ryan Payne to compete for the job in the meantime.

Tigers kicker Matt Reagan is injured and not playing against Louisville. He will be replaced by walkon Vinny Zacarrio.

Both teams are without their starting kickers which is great for the under 27.5 at the half.

          Prediction:
3 touchdowns & field goal in the first half
