    NAVY vs. Ball St
At first look I felt this pick was easy and had to be Ball State. Navy;s QB is out, they dont pass well, bla bla bla. But looking at the numbers I think this game could be a lot close than expected. Ball St's defense is average at best, they have a very dynamic offense which carries the bulk of the load. But I also see Navy keeping right with Ball St regardless of the starting QB being out.

They are a system team and did well last week, yes it was vs a shit 1-AA team but their RB did have over 350 yards...

Does anyone have any insight on this?

I am leaning towards the over and then NAVY/Over parlayed...

I like Ball State and the over. BSU has a big advantage offensively with Davis and 10 other starters back. They put up 34 points in an OT victory at Naqvy last year and should have no problem getting to that total again. Defensively they should be able to put 8 men in the box and contain the Navy offense. Going on the road and with a new coach and a backup quarterback facing an offense that has been together this long doesn't give me any confidence in Navy here.

Way too early in the season to cap this game IMO... the total and line both look to be set perfectly to me. If I HAD to pick sides, I'd take B State and the UNDER, but I'll just be watching and taking notes on this one.

I think Ball State covers im thinking of taking the -6.5 I like Ball state at home... Ball ST can score and I think they will do a better job of tackling this year around. Navy will still struggle to stop the pass (They should be better than last year but still) not good against BAll State... Still looking into this game... Every thing so far points to BAll State.

I might sit out the 1st half and hit em on the second half... Ball ST's o-line will wear down the smallish Navy Front in the second half. Ball states O-line has alot of experience coming back (129 starts are 2nd most in 1A) AVG. about 292 Lbs. against a small Navy Front 7.

When everything points to a side doesnt the other side usually cover??

With that said I am going with Ball State, I hate going against by gut/research...Based on BS last year and returning almost their entire offense I expect love to have a huge day and BS 41 Navy 27...Think a late TD will make the score look closer than it was...

                    Ball St -6 (buy)
                    Ball St over 61

                    good luck guys

I got on Over 59 immediately but I didn't know the Navy QB was out? The Navy kids are so disciplined though that they'll still move the ball well! I'm still tempted to take Ball State (-6.5) because of the firepower they're returning this year! QB Nate Davis will light it up and it should force Navy to play catch-up & make a few mistakes! The Cardinals play my Hoosiers in Bloomington next week and I'll be very interested to see the line there? Ball State may take that one too now that James Hardy is gone to the NFL!

Not for me this season... i've been doing pretty good at picking Dogs... I do my homework on games look for stats, history, returning starts, everything... Alot of the Experts are picking Navy+7 we shall see how it pans out. A shootout favors Ball ST.

I'd be careful on this over fellas...

Ball State just may be able to stop Navy, and that running game could eat up a lot of clock.

                            Good luck though.

Does anyone have any observations/opinions on how the time clock change has effected scoring so far?

I know its early but this is definitely something we need to take into consideration now with college games...

Thank you for the heads up on the total USC... Again, this is screaming over so it could be a sucker play but Navy's RB had 3 runs of over 70 yards last week. Looks like he can be a gasher and vs a mediocre Ball St D I will take the chance...

I felt really bad for you over backers. After that 1st half, no excuse for the 2nd to be so quiet.

I don't have a definitive answer, but I think over/unders last week were 12-11-1 or something similar. This means the books have done a good job of adjusting totals to compensate for any affects the time clock change may or may not make...
