Why are people betting the Over
You had 15 points scored with 1 or 2 weeks preparation, and now there's going to be 27 more points scored with the teams having a month to prepare? Not saying it will be 9-6 again, but how do you make the leap from 15 points to 41-42 with this info?

i think the extra time favors the offenses, more time to analyze, develop, implement and practice ways to attack the defenses. After all, offense is typically the pro-active side of the ball while the defense reacts to whats happening.

Last game they played not to lose, this game they play to win. Alabama missed a ton of big plays, stupid penalties cost them. I think there is a very good chance this goes over. Both teams average almost 40 a game, so even if they can get a little more than half their averages it goes over.

Extra time off has favored the offenses in most games so far as well.

I also think playing on the faster track will speed this up some with more big plays from all the athletes out here

I agree and bet the under very heavily myself. However I always look at both sides and my only arguement to as why it should go over is that LSU's defense looked very vulnerable to the pass against Georgia. After Georgia passed the ball the first few possessions of that game there is a reason why LSU went from -1 to +2.5. Sharps and the public think that Saban and company will be more aggressive and not run the ball as much. I just don't see a total of 15 points in the first game going over 41 in a rematch with 5 weeks of rest. Good luck!

because espn has told everyone all month this game will be higher scoring and bama will win. this is pretty much the extent of most people's research.

This is true....also, look at the total scores for their games prior to 2011:

                    2008: 27-21
                    2009: 24-15
                    2010: 24-21

I know....what do prior years matter? Typically not much but in this case you are looking at roughly the same talent level on these teams with the same philosophies (same coaching staff). Both teams had very good if not superior defenses all three years.

While those totals aren't overwhelming (48, 39, 45....avg 44 pts) in themselves as an argument for the over, throw in the long preparation time as previously mentioned and the faster track. I think that will account for an extra score at some point, quite possibly a pick-6 or kick return.

the problem is that you got absolutely incredible defenses filled with future NFL studs facing average offenses with mediocre QBs - Jefferson really can't throw the ball and Mcarron isn't too much better

this game will go way under (as it is on pace right now) - I ended up putting the under in a teaser and I just wish I played it straight up
