to many damn games are determined by damn kickers.

    Oregon vs. USC
    Stanford vs. OSU
    BAMA vs. LSU
    BSU vs Everytime they've lost
    and now VT vs. UM
    *add UGA yesterday.
this list is so long its a shame

c'mon, how hard can it be to find someone who is reliable from 40 yards.

i was a kicker in high school and i know how hard they have it, but if your playing on a div.1 team in a good conference you have no excuse missing fg inside 40 yards.

He had a nice night, for a guy that was the 3rd stringer. I think they said he had only kicked it twice all season, so I'm sure he was experiencing some nervous energy, that he hadn't experienced in awhile....

I completely understand that. The kid did great for the situation he was put in and im not blaming him at all.
I just feel that its the teams responsibility to fill that spot with a kicker that is able to perform. That being said I don't know the whole Kicker dilemma that VT has but school like Oregon and Bama should definitely have top notch kickers.

Agree, college kickers can kill you.

Go over the whole bowl schedule... the team that scored last, covered, how many times?

Colleges need to start recruiting from European schools where the kickers are much better.

Hell, Kenyans run for the Alabama cross country and track teams.

They are the "bad" Kenyan runners... but good enough to get scholarships and Alabama is competitive in NCAA cross country and long distance.
Some are 22 yr old or older freshmen. It is a joke.
There are other examples, several basketball teams have Australians (St. Mayts, SLU) and others get some good Europeans. Some africans come here, play one yr of "prep school" then play NCAA basketball. Etc.

Don't forget OSU vs Iowa St. which completely robbed us of an exciting NCG
