I agree although PS will play keep away with the running game at times. The key I think is Penn State's D really never saw too many high powered passing games so their #s are skewed. They didn't play Michigan State with the best passing QB in the B10. They did give up 294 yds and 24 pts to Northwestern and Dan Persa. Keenum is 10x better than Persa and Houston has a wee bit more speed than the white boys at Northwestern.

Take the "I hate Paterno, Sandusky, Penn State" glasses off, and handicap this game, for maybe 10 seconds please.

What defense has Houston faced all season that remotely resembles this defense.

PSU defense is tenth ranked in total defense in the nation, fourth ranked in the nation in pass defense, Bolden under center is more than capable, and if he plays mistake free or even close to mistake free QB, PSU will roll.

Given the choice of big boy Big Ten defenses, or razzle-dazzle, smoke and mirror offense from a video game conference, I'll take the big boy defense every time.

PSU defense is in the same league as Florida State, 'Bama, and LSU.
Houston will get nothing flowing on offense all day

PSU +7.5 all day, outright win is a very real possibility,

Case Keenum has had trouble all year with teams that can even get a tiny bit of pressure on him which penn st will do.

This is probably the toughest game to handicap today. So many variables when you have bad offense vs bad defense and good offense vs good defense. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

I grew up in Houston, still visit plenty. Houston is AWFUL in bowl games. Keenum laid one of the biggest eggs in history against Air Foce last time he played in a bowl with six INTs.

You have a soft/finesse team, vs a rugged/physical team. Unless the finesse team is much more talented, I side with the physical team the maority of the time. You have to remember the best win Houston has for the year is UCLA.

I see penn state controlling the trenches woth ease on both sides of the ball... Also see penn state running game having their way I this pathetic Houston defense... Even the black qb at state bolden can expose them.... Not too mention Houston's running game already isn't very good, add to the fact Keenum played awful last time against a southern miss defense that isn't near penn state....

I am on Houston as well at -6.5 for 1 unit. Houston puts up a lot of points and despite the defense of PSU I think Houston wins easily here.

You could end up being right. However, the reasoning I've seen people use to support a play on Penn State against Houston is/was flawed. (They needed to dig a little deeper.)
