Hedge, problem is this is sports and the unthinkable happens all the time, sometimes youre not in a good position to hedge at halftime, say Stanford is down like 10 pts at the half and the line is say Stanford -7, you could play Notre Dame +7 and Stanford loses by 2 and you would lose both bets by getting middled. Or any other scenario like that, always best hedge, I know its hard sometimes but its the right thing.
