I think Pittsburgh will come out fighting for their lives, but Geno Smith is going to pass for 350+. If WVU is smart enough to prioritize containing Sunseri from running, especially in the red zone, then Pittsburgh's offense is going to have a hard time operating consistently. Zach Brown is capable of moving the ball but doesn't have breakaway speed or the mobility Ray Graham has. He's more of a bruiser. Sunseri isn't really a bomber so he relies more on his tight ends and Devin Street in short crossing routes. He will repeatedly be stuck in 3rd & long and try to run to the 1st down mark.
WVU is going to start off by trying to establish their running game, which Pitt is fairly good at defending. Smith is like Tom Brady in that he has huge range, but loves working off the play action pass so getting that running game going is critical to them having access to the full playbook. I like Pittsburgh to start strong, but I think WVU wins the game on the strength of a big second half. The spread is a bit volatile as Smith is very capable of exploiting the weaker Panther secondary. I'm going to play it live.Comment -
