Actually, I'd be very surprised if this isn't investigated.

I've never seen a D1 coach pass up a 36 yard field goal in a 3 point game with 7 minutes left.

I really doubt it. Like I said, 100% of coaches to ever coach in D1 take the 35 yard field goal there instead of the 4th and long attempt.

That was fine with 3 minutes left.

However, passing up a 35 yard field goal with 7 minutes left on 4th and long to make it go to a 6 point lead instead of 3 is quite possibly the worst coaching decision in the history of football.

In fact, I'm pretty sure if you survey 1,000 coaches to ever coach in D1, they say they kick the field goal there.

So I guess you can believe that he is in a 1 in a billion guy, just thinks outside the box (even though he is known as ultra conservative) or you can believe that books wanted to recoup a little bit of their money on the last game on the board.

The second is FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR more likely.

Fresno's Kicker is 6-8 on field goals 39 yards and less.

So yep. He is about average.

No justifying this one. I think it'll at least be looked at.

A 1 in a trillion call like that that definitely affects a line? Definitely going to be looked at.

I had Fresno +4 2nd half.

Hill turned down a chip shot field goal to go for a 4th and long on a field goal that would have affected the 2nd half line.

It is by far the most suspicious coaching decision I've ever seen as far as a line goes. So it is worth considering his motives for bypassing a chip shot field goal with a good kicker for a 4th and long.
