This is a Rivalry game known as the "Glass Bowl" and N. Illinois handled Toledo last year.
Line opened up at -7 Toledo and is currently at -10 at some books. Toledo is the only unbeaten team left in MAC. N. Illinois is not your typical Offense and puts up some pretty strong offensive #'s and I can see them causing Toledo some major problems with the best Dual threat QB in the MAC, Harnish. Toledo will have to play some honest defense and every position must play there gap or N. Illinois will have a field day. The weakness of N. Ill. is their young inexperienced defense of which has been gashed several times already this year. Toledo has a very strong offense as well and is not easy to prepare for. N Ill. had a poor showing vs Buffalo and I wouldn't use that as any indication on how they will perform tonight. N. Ill. has performed well for primetime games in the past. I fully expect Toledo to do their thing on offense but expect them to struggle to stop N. Ill on defense as they had some issues with there secondary that got exposed vs Miami (OH). I fully expect this game to be competitive and a offensive battle but I do think the -10 is a bit much for a rivalry game against a very good offensive line that can simply move the ball. I read a few comments on how Toledo has such a great rush defense...this may be true on paper against a run through the tackles offense but let it be known N. ill is not a run through the tackles type of running attack. They do it a much different way and not easy to stop. Toledo 35 to N. Ill. 32. As I just finshed this write up, the line just moved back down to 9.5.
