this line does smell very bad but i could never put $ on iowa this year.

michigan would be at least -17 to -20 if they were hosting, do you really think iowa's HFA is really worth 2 td's?

      No.

As for the OP, I don't know. Michigan's strength -- mobile QB in a spread system -- is Iowa's weakness. Iowa's defense is vanilla in every sense of the word; too slow, white and predictable.

Iowa coming off a very bad loss. Michigan covering almost every spread this year. Books hang a "trap" line that will likely get 80/20 action (80% of the bets on Michigan, 20% of the money on Michigan).

How can you not love the Hawkeyes here?

Wait until game day and collect as many points as you can. Reality sets in for a 7-5 Michigan Wolverines this week as they hit their roughest 4-game stretch of the year.

I'd really like to take Iowa here; you rarely get them as a home dog.

I just think this team stinks. Slow D, small up front, questionable kicking game -- pass. Mobile QBs eat them alive.

think you missed the '1' in front of your 6. also, if you really believe it'd be 6, that would mean you also believe iowa's HFA is only worth 1' pts. that doesn't make any sense either. not trying to be argumentative here and i already stated this line stinks, but it's michigan as a value play here or pass.

How would a spread going from +4.5 at Kinnick to -6 at Michigan Stadium mean the HFA is only worth 1 point?

you said michigan would only be laying 6 at home vs. iowa. the spread in this game at iowa is michigan -4'. that's 1' pts diff.

My bad -- I was thinking Iowa -4.

It'd be -9 or 10 at Michigan then.

Iowa losing to Minnesota opened my eyes. This just is not a strong Iowa team. Rebuilding a offensive/defensive line takes time.

How can you wager on a team that loses to BOTh Iowa State and Minnesota? Iowa is a terrible away team, but they seem to play well at home. This game is a pass, only because Iowa is so flakey.

no worries. imo, still think the line would be at least -17 if this game were being played at the big house. keep in mind that michigan just gave 14 to purdue and iowa is worse than purdue having lost to iowa state and minny.

if this line somehow drops to 3, michigan will warrant a big play for me purely on a value principle. gl

question is denard robinson can only throw if he can sneak past his scrambles with his speed. if they contain him, the michigan offense crumbles. I want to pick Iowa ( I'm gonna be at the game lol) but will wait for the line to get bigger. Hope everyone bets michigan lol.

Btw, I picked moneyline on Kansas city tonight, yes, I have balls (clouded with logic)

agree that line will move up but a lot i dont think so as books wont let the sharps hit them for even more than they have with this number. it will take so much public money to force the books to move alot. i love this play and wanna hit it now but will hope it goes in our direction.

Put it to rest. You are way off. Michigan was -14 at home to Purdue and -7.5 to Northwestern. Where you get 17 is beyone me. The Big House is NOT a big home field advantage. -10 tops.

The line in Vegas is down to -4 in most places. One place has it at -3.5. I do not think you will see much variation in the line. There is not a lot of action on this game as of yet. Very little early action at all.
