    Fiu/troy
All five of my power rankings showing FIU the dominant team.
FIU won last year 52-35 as a road fav of -8.5
    FIU 2-2 at home ats
troy 1-2 on the road ats
    no sig injuries on either
FIU should be able to expose a weak Troy rushing d
Troy is a sloppy team. 73 penalty yards a game

my numbers are showing troy is 8 pts worse than FIU

Line started at -5 up to -6.5 for FIU

    my score

    FIU 31
    Troy 20

GL. I learned a long time ago I cannot bet just on what the teams have done but what the teams can do. Lines are made based on what the public will split on which is based on what the teams have done.

I am on Troy +7. I know either the over or Troy ATS will hit. I think the best play is Troy the over may still come in but I think a lot of people are on FIU and the number looks to good to be true for them.

Again GL on the play but I think Troy is the best line in this game.

I dont think FIU was favored last year also score is lopsided because of turnovers, especially in the 2nd quarter.

remember there is no way of predicting the future...there are no sure things... but using the past does allow a possible glance at what might happen in the future...and over the long haul it may just pay off for ya if you manage your money and your data... good luck

                    meh

There are an endless supply of people on these forums who love to tell everyone else they don't know what they are talking about. Good to have one more. Welcome to the forums

For one thing that is just one article. Secondly, I don't think you read it correctly.

"Although balancing the action is often preferred, it isn't critical for a healthy betting company because they have a built in margin" - They prefer it to be balanced, but if it is off a bit they have a margin built in so it doesn't have to be exactly 50/50.

"The best situation for the sportsbook is to open the line at say 8.5 or on a half number (whole number +0.5) and get perfectly equal action on both sides." - That absolutely contradicts what you said.

If they get lopsided action then the books are setting themselves up to get killed like has happened on a few recent weekends. They don't want to gamble which is what they are doing if all the money is on one side. They want to take their guaranteed profit from equal action and keep building their fortunes.

an equal line never happens... books want it all.. the vig and the square money... and yes sometimes the book loses on lopsided action...
either way, the book wants to take all of our money... they are not in the buisness to just make vig...

Of course it never happens. That would be almost impossible. That doesn't mean that is not their goal. I believe they shade a line one direction or the other to get the squares, but they try to keep that number where it still falls in that "margin" they were talking about so if they are wrong they still make a small amount on the vig. If they are correct then they make a bigger profit. I really don't think they routinely go out of their way to get the action so lopsided that it is out of that built in profit margin.

You are correct though. They want everything they can get. Don't we all

anyway, no big deal to me one way or the other. I just read your comment and then read the article and didn't see where it said what you were saying.

Looking forward to your input on some matchups

Troy has been garbage so far this year... FIU hasn't been too much better but I expect them to control this game though... FIU -6.5!!!

Not that it matters much (and maybe supports your theory more) but FIE was +8.5 against Troy last year

Have a hard time going with FIU this week after they choked the Arkansas St. game last week
