Illinois is only -3.5???? I know, short road faves and all, but......

Illinois has had one bad game against a decent Ohio State team and has beat a pretty good Arizona State team as well as a sorta decent Northwestern team. Both those wins are killing Purdue's best win who is.... uh..... Minnesota? Middle Tennessee?
Sure, Illinois has only played one road game against Indiana, but this Illinois team is quite a bit better than Purdue talent wise. They beat this team last year by 34 points.

I really don't understand the line movement. Illinois has not shown that they are able to put teams away with only small victories over Arizona State and Northwestern, but who the hell has Purdue even played tough against?? On the road they did have a good performance against a Penn State team who has an offense considerably less impressive than Illinois.

This may be a crazy square play, but Illinois wins this game by at least a touchdown. That opening number of 6 seemed like a quality line. 3.5 seems wild

Part of the reasoning is the fact that this is only the 2nd away game for Illinois. Their only other away game was at a terrible Indiana team. The Illini are 2-6 AT as away favorites in the past 3 years. They are also 2-11 off a S/u loss versus a team with revenge. They are also 2-4 ATS this year. Not too much to say about Purdue, except that they have covered their last two games. At 3.5, this is a pass for me. Like someone said, Ron Zook.

I watched Illinois play AND bet on them the last two weeks and I was sore sorry. They have a pretty stout D but I have no faith in them to move the ball, its like watching molasses drip down a wall. Yeah, OSU has a very talented D and Illinois made mistakes. I don't think Purdue can handle a high-powered offense. Remember what Floyd/ND did? Now insert A.J. Jenkins.
