Remember that hard-nosed, gritty first-half of football Cal played against top-10 Oregon? Actually built themselves a 1 point halftime lead before getting clobbered 29-0 in the second half. Cal had high expectations coming into the season but at 3-2 with 3 wins coming against cupcakes and 2 conference losses in a row, this team is reeling. Led by 6-7 Matt Kalil this USC OL gives Matt Barkley plenty of protection, neutralizing a Cal pass rush that would have been the Bears only shot in this one. It won't get quite as ugly as the 42-0 halftime deficit Cal faced against the Trojans last year because Maynard should be able to throw it a little with one of the nations top WR in Keenan Allen while mixing in a solid run game (Isi Sofele averages nearly 10yds/carry). But Maynard is so mistake prone and USC will have no problems moving the chains, chalk up another Cal loss after a tight, low-scoring 1st half. USC wins 31-17
