#37A couple interesting tidbits;
Mack Brown has never lost a game after OU. 13-0 in his career.
Last year after the OU game, Texas strolled into Lincoln, Nebraska with 2 losses and beat the No. 5 team in the country. And that Texas team was much worse than this Texas team.
That being said, there isn't much to base a Texas cover on except the early RLM line movement. Possibly a trap game here. But the stats all point to Ok State.Comment -

#39The Big 12 is overrated as a whole IMO. There isn't much separating the top teams in the conference aside from OK IMO and that's their defense. And I still don't see them going undefeated either. Most of these schools have weak defenses and turnovers will be the difference in most of these games.
I don't see OK St. defense creating the turnovers and defensive points OK did. If they can take care of the ball themselves, they will win easily.Comment -

#52I thought Texas A&M was supposed to be the beginning of the end for OSU??
I don't see how anyone could lay money on Texas this weekend. Too young and inexperienced. And any coach that thinks flip flopping with QB's is the way forward should be fired. See Penn State and how much better LSU have become since it became just Lee's playbook.
I can't speak for everyone but I know what I'm getting with OSU. High powered offense and average/sometimes shaky defense. It will take a team with an incredible defense and top 10 offense to beat them. For me they will most likely run the table until bedlam and then probably lose to OU.
I would back OSU against every team in the NCAA except for LSU, Bama, Wisco, OU and Boise.Comment -

#60The stat that Texas, under Mack Brown, never losing after the OU game is dumb. Since 2002 they have played the following:
2002: @ #6 Kansas State W 17-14 (Great Win, K-State finished 11-2 that year)
2003: @ Iowa State W 40-19 (Iowa State finished 2-10)
2004: vs. Missouri W 28-20 (Missouri finished 5-6)
2005: vs. Colorado W 42-17 (Texas was amazing this year with Vince Young and won the NC)
2006: vs. Baylor W 63-31 (Baylor finished 4-8)
2007: @ Iowa State W 56-3 (Iowa State finished 3-9)
2008: vs. #11 Missouri W 56-31 (Missou finished 9-4 and lost at home to Ok. State, OU and unranked Kansas)
2009: @ Missouri W 41-7 (Missou finished 8-5 and lost to Nebraska, Ok. State, Baylor and Navy)
2010: @ #5 Nebraska W 20-13 (Texas sucked last year but somehow won in Lincoln)
So other than last years win over Nebraska (which was a fluke), they beat 2 ranked teams the week after OU/TX, a good Kansas State team and an overrated Missouri team. The problem is that they dont have guys like Vince Young or Colt McCoy and their Defense is certainly not near as good. I have tried, but unless there are injuries to OSU or something like that, I cant see Texas staying within 2 touchdowns.Comment -

#62OSU's defense is very underrated IMO
the overwhelming majority of their points they've given up this year has been in garbage time when the game was long long long over. They held a solid Arizona offense to 14 points and a GREAT Texas A n M offense to 29 points
OSU will score 38+ points in this game... I just don't see a very inexperienced Texas offense scoring any more than 24-30 pointsComment -

#69yeah i wouldn't bet this game. the line is too strange.
since most bettors only look at the previous games and notably a high profile game like last week, the line this week should be inflated on the okla st side because the books know they can add a point or two and still get the public money to come in big on the okla state side.
you have to look at it from the books viewpoint. they are not trying to lose money.Comment -

I've watched Oklahoma State play a lot this year. They are good.
Texas has two freshman QBs that are like deer in headlights. Their offensive line isn't good. They have no playmakers at WR, Shipley "will" be good in the future but he isn't there yet. Finally, their RB's are average.
Their d-line is solid and their linebackers are decent. Their secondary sucks.
Much like OU, I expect Weeden and OSU to light them up. Likewise, that gimicky shit Texas runs on offense only works against crap teams that lack speed. I didn't see any of those wildcat plays or sweeps out of shotgun work against OU. In fact, they lost about 80 yards on that trash. Reason being, top 10 teams can run laterally. You may be able to just out run Rice or Iowa State the corner but that won't work against good opposition.
Texas didn't face any decent passing teams early on. Iowa State, UCLA, Rice, ect. Come on. Give me a break. None of those teams can really throw the ball.
The reason Texas was successful early on was because they run a trash defense and blitz everyone. It's effective against crap teams that can't win one on one matches because it forces turnovers but against good teams they are going to get torched.
Watch Weeden pick them apart tomorrow. I see like a 38-21 type game.
It's shocking how badly Texas has evaluated their recruits in recent years. These guys are overrated.Comment
