Well congrats on your win Machine Choice. I still disagree with you about Mack Brown but I admit I was wrong about the game today. While I think Texas is much improved this year, they couldn't handle the pressure of this game. I thought they could. I think there will be value on Texas the rest of the year because of this game though. Being a national TV game a lot of people will be down on them not realizing they aren't this bad, they're just overwhelmed by the stage.

nj1035, I'll give you all my points if Texas doesn't lose at least three games this year. They'll be in the Holiday Bowl at the end of the year and Mack Brown will rightly get significant heat (he should get fired).

THey will lose to Oklahoma, at Missouri, and at Texas A&M. They will probably lose to Oklahoma State, and may lose at Baylor.

Five losses would make me deleriously happy after listening to Mack Brown laundry-list all the excuses why Texas had a bad year last year, and why they didn't win the title the last time. He's a washed-up and overpaid joke

That's pretty damn special.

9 consecutive double-digit winning seasons.

Now, things change, and maybe Brown isn't the coach he once was. Programs get stale, coaches get tired, but it doesn't mean he sucks.

Exactly... I get so tired of hearing that he can't coach or he sucks... I love Texas with all my heart but Texas fans are a bit ridiculous... the expectation is to win every game. Hardly any team does. Yes, he hasn't done as well the past few years, but he will rebound eventually. I remember the old days when Texas really was not very good... Akers, McWilliams, Macovick days... If you remember those years, you really appreciate Mack. However, since the world has turned into this "what have you done for me now" attitude, they kick Mack when he's down...
He's one of the few coaches I think should be able to leave on his own terms... not forced out because of a couple of down years.

This is a true statement. I can handicap, but once I get even a small losing streak going I blow it all and go all-in. For me, I have to win all the time or I lose interest and just say "Fukk it, push the chips to the middle of the table."

I'll give you this... you have shown the ability to be a good handicapper. What you haven't shown is, the ability to manage your bankroll. You gotta learn to step away before going into tilt-mode.

I have been getting this advice for four years here. One day I will learn. Every time I go all-in it takes me months to pay off the debt. You would think I would get sick of that by now. I am a good handicapper but a horrible gambler. We will see what happens this year, probably I will go all-in in about four weeks and then be back in mid-2014.

In other news, right now I am working on Western Michigan at Iowa.

Wow! I just realized that four weeks into the 2011 season I predicted Texas would be in the Holiday Bowl even though they were 4-0 at the time, and that is exactly where they ended up! LOL
