don't really care about them covering ... i need the OVER to cash a 5 game parlay .... that being said, having picked correctly 4 games, I'm a bit scared about this final game ... Statistically i should lose this one as 5 team parlays are kinda rare ...

-TA&M 20th in Passing O. Return Senior QB and all WRs/TEs/RBs
-SMU 21st in Passing O. Return JR QB and all WRs/TEs/RBs
-TA&M 89th in Passing D. Return 8 on D including entire secondary
-SMU 43rd in Passing D. Return 8 on D including 3/4 secondary
-Both teams looking at hyped years where they could breakout and rack up top 10 Passing years

lots of passing means lots of long first downs which stop the clock to move chains, means incompletions that stop the clock, means lots of short routes to the sideline which stop the clock, means routes over the middle that leave room to run after the catch and break a score = lots of time to work with and explosive plays for above average scoring

bad breaks or abnormal low scoring are needed to secure a loss. average scoring leaves you right around the # where you could be 1 play from going over or staying under. advantage is always with the over in games like these, unless the # is clearly off. it's low if anything

I just realized, when I rechecked my card, I had teased the total on this play down 7pts so basically I need OVER 49.5 ... would you advise me to bet UNDER 49.5 for some insurance ? or OVER 49.5 is solid for this game ?

While most probably agree that the OVER is the right play, why are you not considering hedging? Naturally hitting the big score get's the juices flowing and makes for some awesome chest thumping when it comes in but guaranteeing yourself a profit is always the right play.

@wal66 --> did just that 2 hours ago ... since I teased the total 7 pt on my ticket I got awesome value against my original bet UNDER 49.5 pays like a madafaka so now I'm guaranteed a profit either way just hoping it's the bigger one with the OVER hitting ....

I initially thought over as well, but the more i look the under looks better. SMU played pretty well on D last year and I'm not convinced A&M is going to be an offensive force.
