Second play

Northern Illinois (-9.5) over Army 1 Unit

I'm going to guess this will be a very heavy public play. Northern Illinois had a very good year last year with Chandler Harnish at the helm and I made my fair share of money on them (10-4 ATS). While I do believe they will be down some this year I think they should have no trouble with Army at home. Army's option attack isn't real exp. this year and N Illinois's Defense is a little down this year but N Illinois offense should score enough to win by 10. They have a very good OL, good QB, and a decent group of WR's to throw to.

Third Play

Notre Dame (-10) over South Florida 1 Unit

Line dropped .5 point and I had it down to play at 10. USF may have a good year but I think the underachieving Irish are finally going to have a real good year. They've got good QB's, Great WR, and an awesome OL should help out the running game. Their D is also stacked. USF has a few ?'s and I think it will take them a couple weeks to get going.

I disagree here. I think Notre Dame wins straight up but not by 2+ possessions. This game will be like a national championship for holtz. His team will be well prepared. Good luck with your other plays.

4th Play

Missouri (-16.5) over Miami 2 Units

Missouri is my team and I think they roll over Miami here. The experts question the skills of QB James Franklin but the reports out of Columbia are that he looks good and they seem to have a potent run game now. They've got a decent group of WR's led by TJ Moe that should be pretty good. MU's DL is going to be solid which means Miami will have to throw, if the DL can get a good push, the LB's can drop back and defend the pass.

5th Play

Wake Forest (+7) over Syracuse 1 Unit

Pretty simple formula here, I think Wake has a decent offense and can score, I don't think Syracuse can play D. Was waiting to see if it got to +7 and as soon as it did I took it.

Play #6 for Week 1

TCU (-5.5) over Baylor, 1 Unit

A lot of people seem to think this is a trap. Yes, TCU lost a lot of players, and yes Baylor has Robert Griffin but have you seen their D's? Baylor has a pitful Defense that is going to have a hard time stopping anyone. TCU is bringing back some solid RB's who should have a field day. TCU is a little weak on defense as well but their LB's are a strength and against the running of Griffin, that's a position you need to be good. I think TCU rolls pretty easily here, also liked the over but only wanted to make 1 play this early.

Play 7

Ohio (-7) over New Mexico State 1 Unit

One of the top MAC teams goes on the road to the lowly NMSU team and are only a TD Fav? NMSU is horrible as usual, the just lost 2 of their starting DL for academics. I think Ohio shouldn't have much trouble running the ball as they have a very good OL. I don't think NMSU will score and this should be an easy win.

Play 8

So Miss (-12.5) over Louisiana Tech 1 Unit

So Miss is always good in home openers and LA Tech always strugles on the road. I'm pretty high on So Miss this year, they have a strong team all around. LA Tech does have a running game but their QB is a big ? and I think is first game of the year will be shaky.

Boise St/Georgia over 51 2 Units

Boise St always finds ways to score and I think Georgia will have to try and keep up with them. BSU's games only went under 51 twice last year.

Still looking at the BYU game, waiting to see who is playing, and also looking at the Oregon/LSU game.

Ole Miss looks like they might be good but they are going to have to prove it. I think they new QB will make some mistakes and BYU will squeak out a win.

Arizona/Oklahoma State over 64.5 1 Unit

Like this one, I think OK St will put up at least 45 this game and that only leaves Arizona with 21 to cover. OK ST Defense isn't that great, numbers from last week are a little misleading as a couple scores by LA Lafayette were on Pick 6's but their D still didn't play that well.

Wisconsin/Oregon St over 57 2 Units

Really like this play, Oregon St had troubles with Sac State last week but their offense really didn't play that bad, I believe they can score some points. We all know Wisky can score points and their Defense looked to be down a few notches last week and I think they will give up some points.

Miss St (-7) over Auburn 2 Units

I'm sure this is going to be a popular pick this week but wow how bad is Auburn this year. I wasn't sold on Miss St last week, but they played very well. I thought Relf was a question mark coming into the year but he proved he is a decent QB. Auburn is going to have a hard time scoring against an SEC team and I don't think their D can stop anybody.

Let me pick at your brain on the miss st pick. I haven't checked the line in a few hours but last time I did it was plus seven Aubie. I give Miss St all the credit in the world. They are moving in the right direction. In saying that I feel that asking them to go on the road in the SEC and beat any team other than Vandy and maybe Ole Miss by more than a score(if the line is 7 or more) is asking a bit too much. The SEC is a conference I've followed since I was 12 and in those 14 years I've seen teams compete night in and night out. I watched the entire Utah State Auburn game from start to finish and honestly I think these kids were smelling themselves as my junior high coach used to put it. I think they got caught looking forward to this game. Auburn isn't void of talent it's just young talent. I think playing in a game like the one last week helped them grow up quick. Do I think Auburn will win? Probably not but I think this game is close in the forth quarter. Just my thoughts. I like the over in Zona/Okie state game.

I don't think most people realize how bad Auburn is going to be this year, I don't expect them to win more than 5 games and I think those 5 are FAU,Samford,Utah St, Miss and then one surprise. I'm jut banking that the surprise will happen later in the year when they get some experience. No doubt that they have talent, but experience matters more to me than talent.

Both teams can score more than they did last week and I think Moniz has a chance to light up the Washington secondary.

Stanford (-20.5) over Duke 2 Units

Stanford looked "healthy" last week and Duke looked pretty sick. I think this line is sitting here because a lot of people don't like to play West coast teams going to the east coast during the day. I think Stanford will be ready and Luck will be showcasing his Heisman talent to the east coast voters.

Alabama/Penn State Under 42 1 Unit

Good Defenses versus young Offenses.

TCU/Air Force over 49 1 Unit

Both teams should be able to run for big chunks and keep the chains moving, if both keep the turnovers down this should get to be high scoring.

Texas (-6.5) over BYU 2 Units

BYU has a really tough schedule to start the year and while they played decent last week I'm not so sure they can do it 2 weeks in a row on the road.
