    South Florida Thoughts?
So I went to my local grocery store tonight, headed down the beverage isle, and I couldn't help but notice that once again the South Florida Kool-Aid stock was completely sold out due to a massive Phil Steele purchase & drinkfest once again. I didn't even think they would bother stocking it this year, but rather just ship it directly to him in June.

In all seriousness, I'm just not seeing why he's so high on them yet again. To me, they look like another 7 win team and minor bowl bid. Sure they will be improved on the field in the 2nd year of Skip Holtz's schemes, and BJ Daniels can't possibly be worse. The addition of Darrell Scott at RB is big, and getting 2 receivers (AJ Love & Sterling Griffin) back from injury will help. The OL has some question marks again while the D seems good but not great like usual.

Last year's 8-5 record to me was a fraud. Wins over Stony Brook, Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, and Rutgers don't exactly strike fear into most. They're definitely an improved team this year, but they weren't 8 wins good last year anyway, so it really leaves them in the same vicinity again.

Anybody else have thoughts on this team?

I'm a bit skeptical too, but Holtz seems to get the job done.

He definitely has done more with less at East Carolina, that's for sure. That seems like the one big plus they have going for them.

The season will hinge on how much progress (or lack thereof) BJ Daniels made over the summer. For every great play Daniels had last year, he had a similar idiotic play where he would do three spins in the backfield and take an 18 yard sack. USF can't compete with top teir teams until Daniels learns to check down or throw the ball away. Hopefully Holtz finally gets him to put his head on straight. I would say they go 7-5, but with homes games against Louisville and WVU to end the season, they won't be out of the Big East race until the end.

they ended the season in a good way, but if they want to take the big east, they better start strong, and daniels need to comeback to 2009 form

So this first game against Notre Dame, Irish have to be the play at -10, right?
