    SEC Starters Returning for 2011
Other than Auburn and maybe Florida, most SEC teams have a good base of starters returning for the 2011 season. Here's a list offensive and defensive starters for each team. Come the start of the season, some of these players may have been beaten out of the starter's position or injured.

    Alabama: 7-9 (16)
    Auburn: 3-3 (6)
    Georgia: 6-7 (13)*
    Florida: 7-4 (11)*
    Tennessee: 7-6 (13)*
    Arkansas: 6-7 (13)
    Vanderbilt: 11-8 (19)*
    S. Carolina: 7-6 (13)**
    LSU: 8-7 (15)*
    Miss St.: 8-7 (15)*
    Ole Miss: 9-5 (14)
    Kentucky: 6-9 (15)

    * Returning starting quarterback. **SC is up in the air.

      You are probably right Cougars.

South Carolina has given this kid every opportunity available.

Let's see if he can stay out of trouble over the summer.

Workhorse- saw this related post on a SEC blog the other day. It lists the percentage of the players who scored touchdowns last year for each team that return this year.

One way to gauge how a team might fare offensively heading into the next season is to determine what percentage of the players who scored touchdowns the previous season will be back.

          Good info Dib.

Mississippi State looks like they could be in good shape.

          46 TDs in 2010 (45 are back)
18 Passing TDs in 2010 (18 are back)
18 Receiving TDs in 2010 (18 are back)
28 Rushing TDs in 2010 (28 are back)

Agree WH. Georgia on the other hand... still not seeing the reason for all of the love. Their OL is falling apart, and as you can see from the link they lost most of their productivity from last year.

What I'd like to see is some sort of correlation of number of returning starters to win%.

Maybe I need to try and grind this one out somehow.

All the love georgia is receiving is because of murray (perhaps the locker of 2011, lots of expectation pre-season) and the question mark that is around the sec east

I think Georgia's defense will be much improved this season. The defensive coordinator is in his second year and that means a lot as far as learning personnel and getting people in the right places.

Let's face it fellows, this is do or die for the head coach. I think they turn it around during 2011.

The Bama defense could be really special. They are two and three deep with SEC caliber players.

Need a receiver or two to step up on offense to help take the heat off Richardson.

It just seems like they are relying on a LOT of unproven, but talented, players this year- most notably on offense. Not exactly what I expected a "favorite" to be like. We shall see. The race for both the east and west will be good ones this year.

Georgia needs incoming freshman RB Isaish Crowell to be the real deal. Remember what the freshman kid did for South Carolina last year. If Crowell can handle the running load and Murray has another good season...I see the Dawgs beating some folks. Need some receivers to step up but have one hell of a tight end who can catch the ball. This dude is worth watching.

To me, Georgia's defense will determine how far the Bulldogs go this season. Just my take.

West is so stacked....LSU, Bama, Ms St and Arkansas all have a decent shot of taking the division

To me, the East is a 2 team race.....SC and Georgia. Can't ever say Florida doesn't have a chance, but SC and UGA will be the ones to battle out that division

Let me make one small correction: Bama, LSU, etc..............

Good post my friend...fools would count Florida out...to many good players.

Going to be an interesting year in the east, I hope Garcia gets it together b/c without him we are looking at 6-6 season or worse. That kid is living the dream but just wants to piss it away.

Crowell is being expected to be the savior for the running game... IDK,. alot of pressure being put on him to never even played a down at that level yet.
Ealy already left cause he knew his job was taken.
Orson Charles will probally be the leading reciever this yr.
OL will be a weak spot
defensively, who knows. I dont think they could regress any farther but I've been wrong before. Hopefully the JUCO transfer thats supposed to be the size of Mt Cody will make a difference and the DBs get their heads out their asses this season.
Richts job is on the line and he knows it....

as far as Garcia goes... who really doesnt think Spurrier will have him starting regardless what he does in the offseason

Mike, my guess is the ole ball coach would get him paroled on gamedays.

My gut feeling (for what that's worth) tells me Garcia will have a big year.

It's his last shot and he knows it.

I'm honestly surprised Spurrier hasn't locked him in his basement at this point.

I really hope the light has turned on for him. Hopefully the days of drinking and wearing crocs/sandals to 7 on 7 drills are behind him.

                                              Good Stuff...........

Never, ever under estimate the value of an offensive line when looking at teams early. NEVER.

Alabama is solid with a stud running back. Little ole Georgia candy asses who are going to be hammered by BIG Bosie State on opening week. I don't think so....

Damn Dib...doing some homework good buddy. Much appreciated.

No doubt. Auburn had 100+ career starts on the line last year, look how that turned out for them..

Maybe I need to try and grind this one out somehow.

This would be amazing!! If there is some sort of correlation, that is!
